People in a small town on Colorado’s Eastern Plains are trying to cope with the tragic loss of a 78-year-old woman in their community.
Mary Mosher was just trying to help and ended up losing her own life because of it.
The town of Hugo is just a few miles south east of Limon on Highway 40.
On Saturday, the Colorado State Patrol says she was traveling east on Highway 4-0/287 in Hugo when a drunken driver passed her and hit the truck in front of her.
The drunken driver kept going. Mosher stopped to help and for some reason she stopped in the driving lane.
She got out of the car and troopers say the drunken driver had turned around and was heading back west on the highway. Seconds later he struck Mosher, killing her.
