A student from Heritage High School was arrested by Littleton police Wednesday after administrators and a resource officer found a gun in the trunk of his car.
According to a release from Littleton police, the gun was unloaded, and it does not appear the student had any intent to use the weapon in a crime.
The student, whose name is not being released because he is a minor, is being charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon on school grounds, a felony, and possession of a handgun by a juvenile, a misdemeanor.
