AURORA, Colo.—Police say a teen who died following a car crash in Aurora wasn’t the victim of a hit-and-run after all.
They say the 19-year-old was in a car that crashed into a light pole Monday morning and was ejected. Two men, including the driver, ran away but were later found.
Police say two people who were at the scene of the crash were friends of the people in the car. They allegedly told police that the victim was a pedestrian who had been struck by the car when it went up on the sidewalk.
Police say they lied in an apparent effort to protect their friends and could face charges for giving false information.
