Most Denver government offices will be closed today for a previously announced, budget-required furlough day for city employees.
Aurora also has a furlough day, meaning city facilities will be closed, except for golf courses and Utah Pool. All health and safety services will continue to be fully staffed.
Each furlough day saves about $1 million for Denver’s general fund. The furlough day will save Aurora about $500,000.
Offices closed today in Denver include the Mayor’s Office, City Council offices, the Auditor’s Office, recreation centers and most city agencies.
