Show your pride and move your ride. That’s the message from the city of Denver on the eve of its seasonal street sweeping program.
Denver Public Works Street Maintenance cleans residential streets between April and November each year. Drivers who are parked in street sweeping zones on designated days could receive a $50 citation.
“Street sweeping in Denver is essential to maintaining the cleanliness of our City,” George Delaney, Manager of Denver Public Works, stated in a news release. “It’s imperative that citizens pay attention to the posted parking restrictions so they can assist us in keeping our streets clean.”
Red and white signs are posted in neighborhoods instructing residents of their monthly street cleaning day. Not all blocks are subject to street cleaning.
For those who tend to be on the forgetful side, Denver Public Works offers an e-mail reminder service at .
Last year, the street sweeping program said its 26 sweepers covered 113,700 miles of Denver streets and collected 41,335 cubic yards of dirt and debris.
