Federal laboratories and research facilities in Colorado generated $1.5 billion in net economic benefit in 2010, according to a study by the University of Colorado’s Leeds School of Business. The facilities account for 7,964 direct jobs and 8,521 indirect jobs, according to the study. Jobs at the research centers pay an average salary of $93,379, the study said.
