GREELEY, Colo.—A Greeley police officer accused of inappropriately touching a woman during a traffic stop has been charged with sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
The Greeley Tribune reports the district attorney filed the charges against 28-year-old Daniel Shepherd Thursday. An arrest affidavit says Shepherd didn’t report the stop but a global positioning system confirms his car was stopped for five minutes March 13 where the woman says she was pulled over.
The woman told police that she was ordered out of her car and touched while the officer held her hands behind her back.
Shepherd was released on $50,000 bond and is on administrative leave. His attorney, Andy Gavaldon, says Shepherd has a good record and will defend himself against the charges.
Shepherd’s next due in court April 12.
