LAFAYETTE, Colo.—High school students in Lafayette are honoring civil rights leader Cesar Chavez with a march and rally.
The Boulder Daily Camera reports that Students from Centaurus High School are planning Lafayette’s seventh annual Seeds of Justice celebration Friday. The events recognize the anniversary of the birthday of Chavez, who organized farm workers in California and elsewhere.
He founded the United Farm Workers.
Members of Colorado congressman Jared Polis’ staff are expected to speak at the events.
