The Colorado Eagles fell 4-3 in overtime to Quad City in Game 1 of the Central Hockey League’s Turner Conference opening-round best-of-five series. It was the Mallards’ first win at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.
The Eagles had a 3-0 advantage with 8:13 left in the third period when the Mallards scored three unanswered goals, sending the game into overtime.
Quad City was called for two penalties early in overtime, giving Colorado several minutes with an extra man, including 1:03 of a 5-on-3.
