Sony Online Entertainment, which develops online games, has announced it will cut 205 jobs and close its studios in Denver, Tucson and Seattle.

A company news release said the moves are “part of a strategic decision to reduce costs and streamline its global workforce.”

Product development efforts by the Denver and Tucson studios will be moved to Sony Online’s San Diego headquarters, the news release said.

The Denver studio, located in LoDo, was responsible for “Magic: The Gathering – Tactics” and a number of other online card-based games.

“All possible steps are being taken to ensure team members affected by the transition are treated with appropriate concern,” the release said.
