COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—U.S. figure skater Adam Rippon is changing coaches from Brian Orser to Ghislain Briand.
Rippon is a two-time world junior champion and won last year’s Four Continents title. He finished fifth at this year’s U.S. championships.
Briand has been a member of Rippon’s coaching staff for two years. Orser coached Kim Yu-na to the 2010 Olympic gold medal in Vancouver before he split with the South Korean skater later in the year.
Briand also has worked with Elvis Stojko, a three-time world champ.
Rippon says the “the transition is natural and makes sense.”
