BOULDER, Colo.—A man who threatened to shoot himself outside a Boulder hospital has surrendered to police after a four-hour standoff.

Police tell the Daily Camera that no one was injured and the man will undergo a mental health evaluation. His name hasn’t been released.

Police believe the man was armed with a .357 Magnum handgun. Authorities closed streets around the hospital and a SWAT team negotiator talked to the man.

Boulder Community Hospital stayed open, but ambulances were diverted to other hospitals.

A standoff at the same hospital in 2008 ended with the suspect’s death. An officer shot and killed 32-year-old Terrance Baughman of Boulder, who entered the hospital, sat in a wheelchair and threatened to detonate a bomb.
