STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say a 14-year-old boy was stabbed in both hands during an altercation in the Steamboat Springs library, and a 40-year-old man was arrested.
Police tell the Steamboat Pilot & Today newspaper the boy was stabbed Monday afternoon in a fight on a balcony overlooking the library’s teen section.
The teen was taken to a hospital. His name and condition weren’t released.
Police Capt. Joel Rae says officers arrested 40-year-old Adam Huber. Rae says police and prosecutors will discuss possible charges. It’s not clear if Huber has a lawyer.
Police and witnesses say the victim and two other boys had become rowdy when an adult confronted them. A witness, 27-year-old Erica Royer, tells the newspaper the adult grabbed one teen, and the 14-year-old then grabbed the adult and was stabbed.
