DENVER—Former Gov. Bill Ritter is back at the Colorado Capitol Tuesday to promote a bicycle race and see his official portrait.
The one-term Democrat is making his first public appearance at the Gold Dome since his successor, Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper, was inaugurated in January.
Ritter and Hickenlooper planned to talk up the Quizno’s Pro Challenge bike race, a new stage race that starts in September. Ritter is a fan of competitive cycling, and Hickenlooper presided over a bicycle-sharing program in Denver while he was mayor.
The new governor will also be on hand later when the former governor sees his official portrait unveiled. The painting will hang in the state Capitol.
