District officials have placed a Chappelow K-8 Magnet School teacher on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations by students that the teacher cheated on a statewide test, a district spokesman said Tuesday.

The teacher was placed on leave March 18.

Greeley-Evans School District 6 has invalidated 63 eighth-grade Colorado Student Assessment Program science tests taken in March as a result of preliminary findings.

Roger Fiedler, director of communication for the district, said the investigation is ongoing, and because district officials are still interviewing students, officials cannot discuss the specific accusations against the teacher. He said, however, initial reports were enough of a concern that the district invalidated the tests.

The teacher is not being identified because it is a personnel matter.
