WINTER PARK, Colo.—A Houston man who died after skiing at Winter Park Resort in Colorado apparently hit a tree.
Thirty-nine-year-old Louis Alten died March 25. The resort says he was skiing on an intermediate trail when he apparently hit a tree next to the trail. He was wearing a helmet.
Alten was taken to a medical clinic at the base of the resort where he was pronounced dead.
His family says he was a self-employed software consultant in the energy industry. Survivors include his wife and three children.
