Boulder-based Orbotix, which developed a smartphone-controlled robotic ball, has raised $5 million in funding, officials said Thursday, according to the Daily Camera.
Orbotix expects to put the money toward readying the firm for the holiday launch of its Sphero toy, which can be controlled from either iOS or Android devices, officials said.
Contributors include the Boulder-based Foundry Group and the Boise, Idaho-based Highway 12 Ventures.
