An 11-year-old boy from Georgia died while skiing at Winter Park Friday, after colliding with two other skiers on the slope.

9News said Winter Park police had identified the boy as Tyler Safarriyeh from Alpharetta, Ga.

A Winter Park spokeswoman said the boy was skiing Friday afternoon on the White Rabbit intermediate trail when the collision took place. She confirmed Saturday that the accident involved an instructor and student in the disabled ski program riding on sit-ski devices.

Ski patrollers responded immediately and performed CPR, while a Denver Health doctor met them on the way to the Denver Health East Grand Community Clinic and Emergency Center.

The boy was pronounced dead just after 3:50 p.m. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
