Smith started from the fifth position, but a wreck on lap 212 sent him and his No. 78 Chevrolet to the garage. Brad Keselowski checked up in front of Martin Truex, who also slowed, and the chain reaction claimed Smith’s and Mark Martin’s cars. Smith finished 37th.
