Weld County prosecutors on Monday charged Gordon C. Schumacher with being a Peeping Tom, alleging that he hid a webcam in a neighbor’s bedroom last month.
Schumacher, 35, of Erie is charged with a felony count of burglary of a dwelling and a misdemeanor, attempted sexual contact-Peeping Tom.
His 33-year-old neighbor told police she spotted the 6-inch wireless webcam among her computer hardware. She told police she thought the camera was in her home for only a few hours because she had briefly left, leaving the door unlocked.
Soon after the woman discovered the camera, Schumacher came to her home to apologize, police said.
