Educators and students from across Colorado will come to Denver on April 23 for the 20th annual La Raza Youth Leadership Conference, a day of workshops on cultural, educational and career topics for Latino youth.

The conference, to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Auraria Events Center, features a keynote address by artist and author Simon Silva.

In addition to the workshops, an estimated 1,300 middle- and high-school students will have a chance to receive financial assistance for their higher education through more than $20,000 offered by the University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, Community College of Denver, College In Colorado and the board of La Raza Youth Leadership Institute.

Youth age 12 to 18 can register for the conference at . There is a $15 fee, but some need-based scholarships are available.
