Twitter came under attack on September 21, 2010 as hackers exploited a security flaw to wreak havoc on the microblogging service. Twitter users now have an additional option for following trends and events in Denver.

The social networking site recently added Denver to its “Trends” option.

This portion of the site allows users to zone in on what Twitter users in specific locations are discussing. With the addition of Denver, users can now see what people in the Mile High City are discussing in their tweets, including current events, popular hang outs, local sports teams and other Denver happenings.

Some of the most popular trending topics on the site this morning included the Denver, Boulder, Tulo, WNBA and the Avs.

Denver was one of a handful of new cities recently added to Twitter’s Trends option.
