WASHINGTON — The U.S. has called for North Korea to release a detained American. State Department spokesman Mark Toner said Tuesday that Swedish officials had visited the American, but he gave no details about the arrest, when it happened or the person’s identity, saying the person had not signed a privacy waiver.
