Colorado Springs slugged its way out of a 9-2 deficit to salvage the finale of a four-game series with an 18-13 win over Reno on Thursday at Security Service Field.

The Sky Sox scored eight runs in the fourth to take a 10-9 lead, getting an RBI double from Chris Nelson and a two-run double from first baseman Mike Jacobs.

The Air Force men’s gymnastics team did not advance out of the qualifier to the NCAA championships in Columbus, Ohio, but five Falcons did qualify for the title meet in individual events.

Advancing were Tory Brown (vault), Devin Menefee (still rings), James Okamoto (pommel horse), Colton Wulf (high bar) and Aaron Zaiser (floor exercise).

Weissmann bows in quarterfinals.

Rebecca Weissmann of Loveland lost her girls’ 14s quarterfinal singles match at the 44th annual Easter Bowl Tournament in Rancho, Mirage, Calif., which serve as the USTA’s Junior Spring National Championships. Weissmann lost 6-1, 6-1 to fifth-seeded Maria Shishkina of Bradenton, Fla.
