BOULDER, Colo.—Two University of Colorado sprinters charged with first-degree burglary, theft and third-degree assault have been suspended from the team.
Track and field coach Mark Wetmore said Friday that Quinton Elgin Dodson and A.J. Whitaker are suspended indefinitely from team activities for violations of team and university rules.
The Daily Camera reports that Boulder police have accused the 21-year-olds of stealing a bicycle, electronics and other items from a home early April 8.
Police say the bicycle owner interrupted two burglars in his home and suffered scrapes after he confronted them.
Dodson and Whitaker are free on bond. They didn’t immediately return emails seeking comment Friday.
