Today. Children can upgrade from their Lego sets as they design and contruct their own city during the Denver Box City for Kids event hosted by the American Institute of Architects Colorado in conjunction with Doors Open Denver (). Kids in kindergarten through fifth grade will get hands-on experience in city planning, urban design and historic preservation as they request permits, order materials and build a cardboard city. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free sessions run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Building, 201 W. Colfax Ave. Call 303-446-2266 for more information.
