A band teacher from D’Evelyn High School was arrested today after investigators found he had taken inappropriate pictures of female students.
Mark Techmeyer, spokesman for Jefferson County Sheriff’s office, said investigators were unsure how many students might have been victims, but said there were at least several.
Matthew James Taylor, 38, was arrested on suspicion of attempted unlawful sexual contact for taking the pictures.
The pictures appear to have been taken during class, and girls are fully clothed.
A message went home to parents at the school this afternoon.
Lynn Setzer, a spokeswoman for Jefferson County Schools, said Taylor had worked at D’Evelyn High since 2008.
