WEEKEND LIVE!

Mind the Platte

Today the Platte Valley Trolley embarks on its 22nd year of offering fun, informative rides along the west bank of Denver’s South Platte River. The scenic “Riverfront Ride” is run entirely by volunteers in a replicated 1925 streetcar. Fares are $2-$4. Birthplace of an icon

The Golda Meir House and Museum opens from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday for a rare tour and talk with museum founders. The house was moved in the 1980s from west Denver to the Auraria campus, where it now stands in the Ninth Street Historic Park. It holds keys to Meir’s little- known story — from 13-year- old runaway to prime minister of Israel. A minimum $20 contribution for the tour and talk will help support the Golda Meir/Carl Ginn Scholarship Award at Denver North High School.

AT THE MOVIES

A Lincoln conspiracy

Robin Wright, James McAvoy and Evan Rachel Wood lend contemporary edge to “The Conspirator,” director Robert Redford’s Civil War-era story about the lone female charged as a co-conspirator in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. PG-13.

The mask is back

In “Scream 4,” Sidney Prescott (played by Neve Campbell) is now a successful writer who returns to the town where a masked killer terrorized her high-school friends. Deadly deju vu ensues in this latest installment of the popular slasher film series. R.

HOMEBODIES

Curses will be cast

The boy wizard and his friends are on the cusp of adulthood in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 1,” now on DVD. The crew must face down evils of the mind and heart as Lord Voldemort’s dark forces plot against them. PG-13.

Entering Paltrow country

Gwyneth Paltrow embraces her musicianship in “Country Strong,” also on DVD. She plays a fallen country star embarking on a tour fresh out of rehab, with Tim McGraw as her husband/manager. PG-13.
