Alfalfa’s Market is back for another go. On Friday, a rebooted version of the Boulder-grown brand — an entity renowned as a trendsetter in the natural grocery business — will open its doors at 1651 Broadway to the public.
The new Alfalfa’s Market comes on scene nearly 28 years after the first market to bear the same name opened in the same location. The first Alfalfa’s was an expanded version of the then-flourishing Pearl Street Market and the continued popularity of the grocery off Broadway set the stage for a multi-store, multimillion-dollar chain that eventually was acquired by Boulder’s Wild Oats Markets.
