DENVER—Authorities say two floors of a Denver luxury apartment building were evacuated after a 33-year-old Denver resident was found dead in a closet.

Firefighters were called to 1600 Glenarm Place Sunday night and a hazardous materials team later discovered Rajeev Sharma in a closet. Lt. Phil Champagne says it appears he committed suicide using the chemical gas hydrogen sulfide.

Officials say an autopsy report is pending.

Hydrogen sulfide typically has a noxious, rotten smell and can be fatal in high concentrations.

The 11th and 12th floors of the building were temporarily evacuated. A resident and a concierge were exposed to the gas while checking on a neighbor and were taken to the hospital. Residents were allowed back in early Monday morning.
