A Denver man and his 19-year-old sister will face child prostitution charges for allegedly pimping an underage girl up to 30 times, prosecutors said today in announcing charges against Theresa Laswell.
Her brother, Christian Laswell, 29, was charged with several related felonies last month.
According to a search warrant of Christian Laswell’s home, the alleged prostitute was a 17-year-old girl. She told investigators she had worked for him for about three weeks and had been on about 30 calls when she was picked up in March.
She described Christian Laswell as the pimp and his sister as “atop the hierarchy of prostitutes,” according to the warrant. She said Christian Laswell collected money paid by clients, ranging from $200 to $500 for an hour, of which she would receive 30 percent.
A third Laswell sibling allegedly drove her to meet clients, she reportedly told police.
The girl said Laswell controlled about six other prostitutes.
Theresa Laswell was first questioned by Denver vice officers last August when she was arrested on suspicion of working as an escort at a hotel near Invesco Field at Mile High, the warrant stated.
