Boaters, cyclists, fishermen and all others who appreciate the benefits of clean water are invited to take part in the South Platte River Cleanup from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday. The cleanup, coordinated by Confluence Kayaks, begins at the Union Chutes river put-in (West Union Avenue just west of South Santa Fe Drive) with boaters paddling to remove trash from 6 miles of river as cyclists and hikers work along the banks. The cleanup finishes at Habitat Park (South Jason Street and Exposition Avenue), where a BBQ after-party with a raffle lasts until 5 p.m. Shuttles are available.
