A man in his mid-20s was wounded in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in southeast Colorado Springs, police said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was shot in the back. He was driven by a friend to Memorial Hospital after police received reports of shots fired. Police initially said he had life threatening injuries, but later said he was expected to recover. His condition was not available.

Police Lt. Kirk Wilson said the shooting happened at 12:25 p.m. outside 2705 Arlington Drive, east of South Circle Drive and Monterey Road.

No arrests had been made and no information about a suspect was available.
