Broomfield Sports and Entertainment, owned by the former manager of the Broomfield Event Center, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last week and owes the city and county of Broomfield more than $100,000, the Daily Camera reported Thursday.
Owner Tim Wiens is the former chief executive of FirsTier Bank, which the Colorado Division of Banking closed in January after investigators found that commercial real estate loans had depleted the bank’s capital. He also is one of the developers for Arista, a 209-acre residential and shopping center on U.S. 36 next to the event center, now the 1stBank Center.
