BOULDER — Joseph Owen Coy was found guilty Thursday evening of assaulting and seriously injuring a University of Colorado student from Nigeria during a racially charged fight on University Hill in September, the Daily Camera reported. The conviction of Coy, 23, of Lafayette, is the first on felony hate-crime charges in Boulder County.
