Grant Family Farms

Saturday: The organic farm is celebrating Earth Day with a “work and play” day. Grant Family Farms purchased 5 acres of potato seed that is destined for food banks. Ute Trail Community Garden

The city of Lakewood and Denver Urban Gardens have created a new community garden scheduled to open May 15 in Lakewood. Plots are available for residents. Preliminary garden guidelines require that members participate in two of the four annual work days and volunteer as a “master gardener” to maintain the common areas for one week during the 24-week season. Only organic methods of gardening are allowed. A $30 deposit is required, and the fee for use of a plot is $30 for the season.
