To celebrate the arrival of spring, park rangers will lead early- morning tours to observe strutting sage grouse as they perform their annual mating dance in Wyoming’s Grand Teton National Park. Foothills educational hikes.
Join Meg Van Ness, anthropologist and regional historic preservation officer, on free educational hikes in Denver’s foothills May 14 and 28. Visit North Table Mountain and Red Rocks Park, where hikers will see a variety of flowers, cactuses, shrubs and grasses.
Palisade Bluegrass festival.
The Palisade Bluegrass and Roots Music Festival is June 10-12. The festival, in Riverbend Park on the banks of the Colorado River, features bluegrass musicians, on-site camping, jam sessions, food vendors/artisans and children’s activities. or 970-464-5602
Raft for the Cure.
The fifth annual Raft for the Cure will take place June 25 on the Colorado River in Moab. Participants will ride the river to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. On-river activities for ages 5 and up are scheduled from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., including a buffet lunch. At 6 p.m., dinner and a live concert concludes the weekend event.
