Phone service problems have resulted in more than 50 false 911 calls to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The problem first occured in the afternoon, and was addressed by Quest, but the problem has returned, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies have responded to the false calls.

The calls have been in the area bordered by South Kipling Parkway and South Wadsworth Boulevard, and by West Bowles Avenue and West Coal Mine Avenue. The majority, but not all, of the false 911 calls have been in the Woodmar Subdivision.

Quest has been notified and is again working to address the problem.

Anyone who needs emergency service and is having trouble dialing 911, can call the Sheriff’s Office dispatch directly at 303-277-0211.
