The BookEnd Café, a coffee shop and cafe adjacent to the Boulder Book Store in downtown Boulder, is closing on Sunday after nearly 20 years in business.

Signs posted on the front door and in the café, at 1115 Pearl St., indicate the owners plan to shutter the café on Sunday evening and that a different concept potentially could open in its place in the coming months.

“The BookEnd Café will be closing its doors Sunday evening, May 1,” the sign reads. “Thank you for 20 wonderful years of downtown Boulder memories.

“Look for us to reopen in several months with our next incarnation.”

An employee at the coffee shop declined to comment beyond confirming the date of the closure.
