A Colorado woman has found an 8.66-carat diamond in an Arkansas park known for allowing visitors to keep any gems they find while digging there.
Beth Gilbertson of Salida said Wednesday she discovered the diamond while washing what she had collected in her buckets at the Crater of Diamonds State Park on Tuesday.
Park officials say it’s the third-largest diamond found by a visitor since the park was established in 1972.
