PUEBLO — A 25-year-old woman died and a second person was injured when a car jumped a curb and ran into a public school Sunday, Pueblo police said.

A 1997 Chevrolet Lumina was going west on Michigan Street when it failed to make a turn onto Grant Avenue. The vehicle went over the curb and slammed into the rear of Central High School, according to police.

The woman died at the scene and the other person was taken to a local hospital and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. Police have not identified either victim.

Investigators think alcohol and speed played a part in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
