PARKER — Investigators say a single-engine airplane climbed steeply before it leveled off, fell toward its right wing and then spun to the ground at a private airfield in Parker, killing both people aboard.

The Elbert County coroner identified the victims as 49-year-old Pete Vinton, the pilot, and David McIntosh, 47, a passenger. Both lived in Parker.

The plane crashed April 23 at Rocky Mountain Airpark, a housing development with two airstrips. Vinton was one of the developers.

The cause hasn’t been released.
