A Boulder child is recovering from a lacerated liver, fractured ribs and chipped teeth after he was run over by a trailer earlier this week while playing between it and the pick-up truck that was pulling it, according to Boulder police.

The boy, who police reported is about 10 years old, was playing at 3:52 p.m. Tuesday on the “tongue” of the trailer, which was attached to Francisco Robles-Moreno’s landscaping truck, in a parking lot in the 2600 block of 28th Street.

When Robles-Moreno, 42, of Longmont, finished his work and drove away, the child fell off the trailer, which was carrying lawn equipment, and the trailer ran over the child, according to Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel.

Robles-Moreno, who works for Ramirez Lawn Care, wasn’t ticketed in the accident, Kobel said.
