
Boulder police are looking for a man suspected in two assaults that are being characterized as hate crimes.
Both victims, one 19 and one 20, were men of Middle Eastern decent who attend the University of Colorado. Both assaults happened at about 1 a.m. today. During the attacks, “the suspect made remarks relating to their ethnicity,” police said in a media release.
The first confrontation took place inside the Walrus bar at 1911 11th St. The suspect attacked the two men, and then left the bar.
A short time later, he attacked one of the men on the street, police said.
Police said the man is about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, about 230 pounds with curly brown hair and blue eyes.
He was wearing a red shirt and jeans.
He was with another man, who did not take part in the assaults, police said. That man is about 6 feet tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and a cleft lip.
He was wearing a blue or gray shirt and blue jeans.
