Although several 2011 performances are already sold out at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, including three evenings of Widespread Panic in June, concertgoers can still try for a ticket.
“Our sellout is 9,450 seats,” said chief marketing officer Erik Dyce. “And people literally from all over the world are buying tickets. It’s no wonder tickets sell out quickly.”
Yet, Dyce said, a number of tickets are not put on sale until the setup of all the equipment is completed.
The views from these seats, he said, are initially considered obstructed. But once amps and a sound booth go up, it often becomes apparent that no obstruction intervenes and some of these seats are made available the day of the show around noon.
“That does happen every year without a doubt,” he said, adding that it takes diligence and a lot of praying on the part of a fan to get those tickets.
