The Denver Zoo announced several births in time for Mother’s Day. All the babies are doing well, joining other youngsters in enjoying the spring weather.

• Sheep Mountain added a Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and two Dall’s sheep. The yet-to-be named bighorn lamb was born April 17 to mother, Ivory, and father, Cliff.

• Kanoa, a baby De Brazza’s monkey that was born in November, is becoming even more independent.

• Red ruffed lemurs, born March 12, include a male, Rusty, and females Bordeaux, Chianti and Mena.

• Hesty is the first orangutan to be born at the zoo in 25 years. Hesty will celebrate her first birthday next month and is slowly maturing.

• Four Amur tiger cubs, Zaria, Akasha, Thimbu and Nikolai, born last summer, are growing up fast.

Other arrivals include 13 Rei mann’s snake-necked turtle hatchlings and Knightly, a male cape buffalo, born April 26.
