GOLDEN — Police on Monday afternoon took a naked man into custody after chasing him through thick brush and over rocky outcroppings in Jefferson County Open Space west of Golden.
Police received reports of a naked man walking in the 500 block of Cheyenne Street about 2:10 p.m. When officers approached him, he fled into the mountains at the northwest corner of the intersection of Colorado 6, 93 and 58.
He eventually stopped running and was taken into protective custody. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries and further evaluations.
Police said in a news release that they are still investigating and will not identify the man unless charges are filed.
