The Boulder Valley School District’s next superintendent will be Bruce Messinger, now the chief of Helena Public Schools in Montana.
The school board voted 5-1 tonight to hire Messinger to succeed Chris King, who’s retiring after four years at the district’s helm. School board member Tom Miers voted “no.” Helayne Jones was absent.
Messinger was chosen from a field of three finalists. The other two were Deirdre Pilch, Boulder Valley’s assistant superintendent for school leadership, and Nancy Sebring, superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools in Iowa.
