INDIANAPOLIS — Federal authorities have lifted detention orders for five young illegal immigrants arrested during a protest at Gov. Mitch Daniels’ office.

One of the five said in a jail interview Tuesday that they all felt the need to protest two anti-illegal-immigration bills Daniels signed into law Tuesday.

The five face initial hearings today on criminal trespass charges stemming from Monday’s protest at Daniels’ Statehouse office.
