The SousVide Supreme

The rectangular Crock-Pot- sized machine was developed by Drs. Michael and Mary Dan Eades, Arkansas doctors who specialize in nutrition, host a PBS cooking show, “Low Carb CookwoRx,” and wrote the best-selling “Protein Power.”

They became captivated by sous-vide cooking and discovered there wasn’t an appliance designed for the home cook. After some home experiments, they began to design, build and market the SousVide Supreme. The 11-liter cooker ($399) and its 9-liter Demi counterpart ($299) are available at Sur la Table, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and sousvidesupremecom.
